My friends, prepare to play Pokemon in a brand new way.

At a press conference earlier today, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, in collaboration with Niantic, confirmed the release of Pokemon Go in 2016.

What is Pokemon Go you may ask?

Pokemon Go brings Pokemon into the real world.

Not physically of course, engineering a machine to create artificial life is still a bit to far out of our reach. Pokemon Go is an app for iPhone and Android devices that, using your GPS, sends you notifications when a virtual Pokemon is in your area. Using the app you can battle and capture that Pokemon. You can apparently also use this app to battle friends when you meet them.

Now the app will be free, but you could also purchase a Pokemon Go Plus, which is a small watch/device that will alert you first and foremost when a Pokemon is nearby, so you don’t have to have your face glued to your phone all day, I mean most of us will anyway, but I digress.

The original announcement video can be seen here:

As a grown man, I am almost embarrassedĀ about how excited I am for this…almost…
