Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • Cuphead‘s planned DLC episode, titled The Delicious Last Course, has been delayed to 2020
  • Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s two costumes, the Stealth Suit and Upgraded Suit, have been added into Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 as a free download (via PlayStation Blog)
  • In other PlayStation news, a quick swap was made to the free PS+ games for July, with PES 2019 getting swapped out in favor of Quantic Dreams’ Detroit: Become Human (via PlayStation Blog)
  • The first trailer for NBA 2K20 has been released, showing the L.A Lakers’ Anthony Davis as the cover athlete
    • The recently retired Dwayne Wade will be the cover star for the “Legend Edition” of the game
    • The game will seemingly feature WNBA athletes for the first time in the series history
    • The game releases this fall
  • Blizzard announced the next expansion for Heathstone, titled Saviors of Uldum
    • More information regarding the expansion’s release date will come later according to Blizzard
  • Remedy Entertainment has regained publishing rights to Alan Wake (via Polygon)
  • Gears 5‘s first technical mutiplayer test will take place on July 17 (via Xbox)
  • Armored Mewto is coming to Pok√©mon Go ‘s raids on July 10
  • Sea of Thieves will be adding new content to its Adventure Mode, as well as changes to its PvP Areana mode starting on July 17
  • Those who backed the PC version of Shenmue 3 are being offered refunds via Epic Games after the announcement that the game will be partnering with the Epic Games Store rather than Steam (via Shenmue 3’s Kickstarter)
  • Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege is running a new Western-styled event titled Showdown
    • The event adds new 3v3 mode along with Western-themed cosmetics to unlock
  • WayForward (Shantae series, DuckTales Remastered) released the first trailer for their River City Ransom spinoff game, titled River City Girls
    • The game releases on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on Sept. 5
  • WayForward also released the opening animation for its next Shantae game, produced by Japanese animation studio Studio Trigger (Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia)
  • Fortnite currently running a crossover event with Stranger Things, with additions to its map and new cosmetic items
  • Warframe developer Digital Extremes released a brand new opening cinematic directed by Dan Trachenburg (10 Cloverfield Lane) during its annual TennoCon event
  • In movie news, the first trailer for Rian Johnson’s (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper) Knives Out has released
    • The film brandishes an all-star cast, including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, and Christopher Plummer
    • The film releases on Nov. 27
  • The first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level was released
    • The followup to 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle releases this Christmas
  • In TV news, Hulu is developing an adaptation of the story of rappers Wu-Tang Clan titled Wu-Tang: An American Saga
    • The series is produced by Wu-Tang veterans The RZA and Method Man, and releases on Sept. 4
  • The first trailer for HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones was released
    • The series stars Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals) along with John Goodman and Adam Devine
    • The series starts on Aug. 18
  • Stranger Things‘ David Harbour stars in a new mockumentary film on Netflix titled Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein
    • The comedy releases on Jul 16
  • Singer/actress Halle Bailey has been cast as Ariel in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid (via CNN)
  • The first teaser for Disney’s live-action Mulan adaptation has been released
    • The film releases in Spring 2020
  • Finally, Stranger Things season 3 is now streaming on Netflix
