Here are some of this week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • IGN reveals the first poster for 2019 Sonic the Hedgehog movie; everyone disgusted by Sonic’s weird CGI body
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man final DLC comes to PS4 on Dec. 21st
  • Street Fighter V starts featuring optional in-game ads on Dec. 11th (source: Capcom Unity)
  • On Dec. 10th, Bethesda/id Software celebrated the 25th anniversary of DOOM by launching the DOOM Slayers Club
  • Blizzard scaling back development of Heroes of the Storm, cancels several upcoming e-sports events (source: Polygon)
  • Epic will allow developers to use its cross-platform tools in 2019 (source: Epic)
  • Second trailer for 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been released (my personal most anticipated movie of next year)
