Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • The Master Chief Collection has been announced for PC, coming to Steam at a date TBD
    • Halo Reach will also be coming to the Xbox one and PC versions of the collection
  • Gearbox have continued to tease a Borderlands 3 announcement. with a PAX East panel coming on March 28th, they’ve tweeted a teaser image on Twitter via Twitter)
  • Pokemon Go developer Niantic have revealed Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a new geolocation-based licensed game coming to mobile devices (via Polygon)
  • Netflix has announced an animated series based on Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma (via Polygon)
  • Anthem players’ frustration continues to grow, as many players have organized a week-long boycott of the game due to changes in its loot system (via Polygon)
  • Jade Raymond, former studio head at Ubisoft and EA Motive, has joined Google as a Vice President (via Twitter)
    • The move comes close to GDC, where Google is expexted to announced a gaming initiative
  • A mock-up of the controller design for Google’s possible gaming console has been leaked (via Shacknews)
  • Sega has halted sales of Yakuza spin-off game Judgement in Japan after actor Pierre Taki was arrested on suspicion of cocaine use (via Polygon)
    • Square Enix plans on removing the actor from Kingdom Hearts 3 as well, as he was the Japanese voice for Olaf (via Polygon)
  • A patch to Fornite has changed the game’s cross-play significantly, now matching Nintendo Switch players with mobile players as supposed to PS4 and Xbox One players (via Polygon)
  • Heart Machine, developers of indie game Hyper Light Drifter, have revealed a followup game called Solar Ash Kingdom. The game has only been announced for PC on the Epic Games Store
  • Blizzard has revealed the new Overwatch hero Baptiste will release on Tuesday March 19 (via Twitter)
  • Turtlerock Studios, developers of the Left 4 Dead series and EVOLVE, have announced a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead titled Back 4 Blood (via Tutlerock Studios)
  • DICE and EA have formally announced Battlefield V‘s new battle royale mode, Firestorm. The mode is set to release on March 25
  • The Behemoth are teasing a port of beloved beat-em-up Castle Crashers coming to both Switch and PS4 on their Twitter (via The Behemoth)
  • Yacht Club, the studio behind Shovel Knight, is promoting a new game that they publishing to be revealed soon (via Destructoid)
  • Hello Games have announced its next update to No Man’s Sky, titled No Man’s Sky: Beyond (via Polygon)
  • The Dragon Ball GT version of Goku has been revelealed to be the latest DLC fighter for Dragon Ball FighterZ (via Gematsu)
  • In movie news, director James Gunn has reportedly been reinstated as director on Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The director was previously removed from the film last year (via Deadline)
  • The first full-length trailer for Disney’s Aladdin live-action remake has been released
  • A new trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame was dropped and showed off the past, present, and some of the future of the MCU
