Alderaand Table Ep. 34: Mando Season 2 Finale Review Josh Yutkins-Kennedy
A new Mario Kart 8 trailer has arrived on the heels of several game news outlets getting to preview the upcoming Wii U arcade racer. The new trailer highlight new items, such as the Boomerang (from Super Mario 3D Land/World), Metal Box (from Super Mario 64), and Piranha Plant. A few courses are highlighted as well, including updates to retro courses such as Mario Circuit from the orginal Super Mario Kart, Toad’s Turnpike from Mario Kart 64, as well as the Rainbow Road iteration from Mario Kart 64 can be seen at the end of the video.
As Nintendo has said several times in previews, this is the first time a Mario Kart game has been in HD and the game looks visually stunning. It’ll be interesting to see how these retro courses use the gratify-defying loops and turns that are the central mechanic to Mario Kart 8.
Mario Kart 8 comes out May 30th for Wii U owners worldwide.
