Alderaand Table Ep. 41: Obiwan Mid-Season Review Josh Yutkins-Kennedy
If virtual reality interests you, then this is something you’ll want to check out!
Sony has been working on VR material they call “Project Morpheus.” I’ve learned about the specific choices that Sony has made, and plan to make for this advanced gaming project. Details were given at the Game Developers Conference (GDC). The talk is between Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, DR. Richard Marks, and Research & Developer Anton Mikhailov. The video is just under an hour long. The content, however, is quite intriguing and worth the patience. All three Sony members have interesting information on the VR that is upcoming. At the end they open up for a Q&A. If applicable, I suggest sitting down and watching it. Project Morpheus talk
Also, here’s a short two and a half minute showing of how the earlier beta of this project looked. GDC 2014: Sony Project Morpheus PS4
This is an exciting step for gamers and additional media. As Anton Mikhailov says, it will be interested not only to play in the world of VR, but also to have VR touring. For example, if Italy was recreated in this device one would become able to simply place the headset on and begin seeing, hearing, and feeling Italy as though they were there. The potential is immense and quite interesting from a tech p.o.v.
