Here are some of last week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and more:

 

  • Summer Games Done Quick wrapped up on July 11, raising $2.8 million for Doctors Without Borders

 

  • NBA superstar and Space Jam: A New Legacy’s LeBron James in now available as a purchasable skin in Fortnite

 

  • Tango Gameworks and Bethesda have announced that Ghostwire: Tokyo has been delayed to early 2022

 

  • Nickelodeon revealed a Smash Bros-like platform fighter titled Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, featuring a plethora of Nickelodeon cartoon characters both past an present
    • The game is set to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch this fall

 

  • Atlus is planning on celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Persona series with announcements regarding new titles, events, and more

 

  • WNBA star Candace Parker will be the first woman to grace the cover of an NBA 2K game, as she will be the cover athlete for the Gamestop edition of NBA 2K22
    • Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will also grace the standard edition of the game, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin covering the NBA 75th Anniversary Edition

 

  • Swiss luxury watch maker TAG Heuer and Nintendo are collaborating on a new Mario-themed limited edition watch
    • The new map arrives on July 15 on PC and consoles as part of the game’s Season 4 refresh of content
  • Battlefield 2042 will feature cross-platform play, as well as cross-progression and cross-commerce across all platforms (via EA)
  • Netflix is reportedly looking to expand its business into video games within the next year (via Bloomberg)

 

  • Capcom has delayed Resident Evil Re:Verse to 2022, a multiplayer Resident Evil game originally set to release alongside Resident Evil Village

 

  • Pokémon Unite, the Pokémon theme MOBA, releases on Nintendo Switch on July 21

 

  • Grand Theft Auto V‘s next major update, Los Santos Tuners, arrives is now live on all platforms
    • The update adds a plethora of new races, cars, ad in-game events to the online game
  • God of War’s Christopher Judge is the voice of Black Panther/T’Challa in the upcoming War for Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers (via EW)

 

  • Warhammer 40K: Darktide has been delayed to sometime in Spring 2022

 

  • Valve revealed the Steam Deck, a portable PC gaming system retailing starting at $399
    • The system is set to ship in December 2022

 

  • Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Extraction has been delayed to January 2022
    • The horror comedy hits theater June 25, and on demand July 2

 

  • PUBG detailed the game’s upcoming updates, as well as its new map Taego

 

  • In streaming news, the first trailer Taiki Watiti and Sterlin Harjo’s new series Reservation Dogs was released
    • The series premieres on Hulu starting Aug. 9

 

  • FX also released a tease for season three of What We Do in the Shadows
    • The new season begins on Sept. 2

 

  • The first trailer for season 3 of Titans, premiering on HBO Max on Aug. 12
