Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • The Pokémon Company has filed a lawsuit in Seattle court against several leakers that outed information before the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield (via Polygon)
  • Developer Fullbright is releasing a physical cassette tape featuring music from 2013’s Gone Home
  • Developer Gearbox and publisher 2K Games have announced that they will be shutting down Battleborn, released in 2016
    • Servers for the game will remain active until Jan. 2021
  • A blog post from Bethesda detailing changes to its free-to-play mobile Elder Scrolls spin-off, Elder Scrolls Blades, revealed that the Nintendo Switch port has been delayed to “early 2020” (via Bethesda)
  • Apex Legends developer Respawn detailed an update coming to the battle royale shooter, including a level cap increase from 100 to 500 (via EA)
  • Beat Saber developer Beat Games has been acquired by Facebook/Oculus Studios (via Oculus)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will receive it’s first season of content starting on Dec. 3, including new maps, modes, and guns
    • The new content will release for free on all platforms
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Steam on Dec. 5
  • Gigantamax Snorlax will appear in Pokémon Sword and Shield‘s Max Raid battles starting on Dec. 4
  • Resident Evil‘s Chris, Leon, Jill, and Wesker will appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s Spirit Board until Dec. 3
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is running a limited time offer called the Friend’s Pass, allowing the game owner a one-time-use opportunity to play the game’s Shared Story mode with a player who doesn’t own the game
  • No Man’s Sky‘s next update, titled Synthesis, will include the ability to upgrade and salvage starships (via No Man’s Sky)
  • PlayStation Plus’ free games for December were revealed, as subscribers will get Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame
  • Publisher/developer Codemasters has acquired Project: CARS developer Slightly Mad Studios (via Codemasters)
  • Broly (from Dragon Ball Super) will join the roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ on Dec. 5, the final fighter this year’s season of DLC for the anime fighter
  • In movie news, the first trailer for No Time to Die, the latest 007 thriller, will arrive on Dec. 4
    • The film will reportedly be Daniel Craig’s final performance as James Bond
  • A new featurette for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released ahead of the film’s highly anticipated Dec. 20 release
  • A short clip featuring the new trilogy stars Rey, Poe, and Finn was also released ahead of release
