Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • A free update to Hitman 2 adds a Haloween-themed Escalation Contract to the game
    • The update is live to players on all platforms
  • Borderlands 3‘s Bloody Harvest event in now live on all platforms until Dec. 5
  • With Blizzocon rapidly approaching, it looks like Diablo 4 has been leaked through a German magazine (via Polygon)
  • World of Warcraft boss Deathwing is coming to Bizzard’s Heroes of the Storm
  • Chicago Cubs star Javier Báez was revealed as MLB The Show 20‘s cover athlete
    • The game releases on March 17, 2020
  • Developer Nighthawk is partnering with iam8bit to produce physical Nintendo Switch editions, as well as limited edition Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges for the upcoming Disney’s Aladdin and Lion King game re-releases
  • Fallout 76 is introducing the ability for players to purchase private servers via a subscription service called Fallout 1st (via Bethesda)
  • Destiny 2‘s Halloween-themed event, Festival of the Lost, begins on Oct. 29 and lasts through Nov. 19 (via Bungie)
  • Kojima Productions and Conan O’Brien revealed that the late-night host will be featured as a character in the upcoming Death Stranding
  • Popular game streamer Shroud is moving exclusively to Mixer
  • After a release date event last month, The Last of Us Part II has been delayed to May 29, 2020
  • Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will come to PC on Jan. 9, 2020
  • Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eeveee! players will be able to pick up Mewto at participating Best Buy stores from Nov. 4 – 14 (via The Pokémon Company)
  • A tweet from EA seems to possibly tease the return of the publishers games to Steam on PC
  • Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion and Rainbow Six: Quarantine has been delayed to later in 2020, as reported in a note to investors (via Polygon)
  • A report on ESPN.com has reported that Overwatch 2 will be revealed at Blizzcon 2019, along with a new playable hero and modes for the game (via ESPN)
  • In movie news, Disney released the final trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
    • The final entry in the Skywalker Saga releases on Dec. 20
  • The first trailer for Bloodshot, an adaptation of the Valiant Comics series starring Vin Diesel, was released
    • The action film hits theaters on Feb. 21, 2020
  • Amazon released its first trailer for The Aeronauts, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones
    • The film premieres on Dec. 6 in theaters, and becomes available to stream on Dec. 20
  • The final trailer for Netflix’s The King, starring a cast including Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton and Robert Pattinson was released
    • The film becomes available for streaming on Nov. 1
  • The first trailers for Antlers, a new horror film from director Scott Cooper (Out of the Furnace, Hostiles) was released
    • Produced by Guillermo del Toro and starring Keri Russel (The Americans), and Jesse Plemmons (Fargo, Breaking Bad), the film hits theaters on April 17, 2020
