Anthem is currently holding its open beta on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this weekend from Friday 2/1 – Sunday 2/3. The game releases in full on February 22
Spider-Man is getting two new Fantastic Four inspired costumes, the Bombastic Bag-Man and Future Foundation suits (via Polygon)
Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting six new fighters via Season 2 of its Fighter Pass, including Videl, Jiren, Broly (the most recent version from the recently released Dragon Ball Super movie), and Gogeta (SSGSS). All fighters will release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch
Jiren and Videl released on Jan. 31, while the remaining fighters are to be released sometime in the future
Bandai Namco also announced the development of an Dragon Ball action-RPG that will span the entire Z-saga, tentatively titled Dragon Ball Game – Project Z
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has updated to version 2.0.0, releasing Pirahna Plant to those who registered their games with MyNintendo along with a host of balance tweaks (via Polygon)
PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive Ubisoft’s For Honor, and IO Interactive’s Hitman on PS4. Both will be available to download on Feb. 5
The Wii Shop channel, the place where Nintendo first offered a cavalcade of it’s library of older games for download for Wii owners, as well as third party games such as Sega Genesis and even Commodore 64 games, was shut down on January 30th
Overwatch has revealed a new Assault map, Paris. The map is currently live for PC players on PTR (via Polygon)
Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s upcoming mobile version of the beloved racing series, has been delayed to release sometime this summer (via Polygon)
Nintendo has also announced via Twitter that Dr. Mario World, a mobile version of the classic puzzle game on Android and iOS, will release this summer (via Twitter)
Sony has announced development of a pseudo-sequel to the classic Bill Murray movie in VR game form, titled Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son. The game is planned for release on PSVR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive
The game is developed by Tequila Works, known for indie games such as Rime and The Sexy Brutale
A free-to-play “battle-royale” inspired spin-off of the Titanfall series, titled Apex Legends is rumored to release on Monday, Feb. 4 according to several reports (via Twitter)
The game will reportedly not feature Titan mechs the series is known for, focusing on player vs. player battles
A fan-festival in Paris for Square-Enix’s fan-favorite MMO Final Fantasy XIV detailed several updates for the upcoming expansion, Shadowbringers, including:
A new job known as Gunbreaker, a gun-wielding tank class
A new Alliance raid developed as a collaboration with Nier:Automata
A new race was also revealed, the Viera from Final Fantasy XII
The expansion will release on July 2 (via Polygon)
The first trailer for Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw has dropped, featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Shaw going up against a super-human Idris Elba
A teaser for DC’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) released, showcasing several of the films stars in costume
Bo Peep will return in Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 4 for the first time in 20 years (via Twitter)
Ben Affleck has officially stepped down from the Batman role as DC is set to release Matt Reeves’ The Batman in 2021 (via Polygon)
