Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and more:

  • The next free content drop for Battlefield V, titled “Chapter 6: Into the Jungle”, will release on Feb. 6
  • The Pokémon Company outlined details on its Pokémon Home cloud-based storage system before its launch in February, as well as the Basic and Premium plans that will launch alongside the app
  • The first trailer for Episode 3 of The Division 2′s free content arrived, dropping players onto New York’s Coney Island
  • Ghost Recon Breakpoint is currently running a Terminator themed in-game event through Feb. 6
  • Phantasy Star Online 2 will get a closed beta period during the weekend of Feb. 7 on Xbox One (via Polygon)
  • Google Stadia Pro subscribers will be able to download Metro Exodus and indie adventure game Gylt for free this month (via Polygon)
  • Bungie and Twitch are partnering to offer players free gear in Destiny 2 through Twitch Prime Loot, a feature available to Amazon Prime subscribers (via Twitch)
  • PlayStation Plus subscribers will get BioShock: The Collection, The Sims 4, and VR shooter Firewall: Zero Hour for free in February
  • Obsidian Entertainment announced that the Nintendo Switch version of The Outer Worlds will launch on March 6
  • After a brief fake-out, the launch trailer for Season 4 of Apex Legends revealed the game’s newest character, Revenant
  • A new Developer Update from Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan revealed changes coming to Overwatch, including a new Experimental Card, Hero Pools to competitive play that will begin in the next season, and more frequent updates
  • Wizards of the Coast are creating a new game studio lead by former BioWare veterans James Ohlen and Chad Robertson (via Polygon)
  • Nintendo will release an Animal Crossing: New Horizons themed Nintendo Switch system on March 13, a week before the game’s release
    • An Animal Crossing themed carrying case will be available as well
  • Nintendo will reportedly not launch a new system, or new version of the Switch, in 2020 (via Polygon)
  • A new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake, featuring a new theme from Final Fantasy legend Nobuo Uematsu
  • A trailer for upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 tournament “Final Kombat”, occurring in March, revealed that gameplay for Spawn, the game’s next DLC character, will be shown
  • A new legendary Pokémon will reportedly be announced for Pokémon Sword and Shield sometime this month (via Polygon)
  • A Kingdom Hearts mobile game, titled Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road was revealed, launching this Spring on iOS and Android devices
  • Developer The Behemoth, the people behind games Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater, announced a return to their roots in Alien Hominid Invasion
  • Dota Underlords will see final release on Feb. 25 (via Polygon)
  • In movie news, The Batman director Matt Reeves revealed that the film has begun filming
    • The Robert Pattinson led DC film is set to release in Summer 2021
  • The first trailer for F9, the latest in the Fast and Furious film series, was released
    • The latest entry in the franchise hits theaters on May 22
  • A Beastie Boys documentary from director Spike Jonze, titled Beastie Boys Story, will release on Apple TV+ on April 24
  • This past weekend’s Super Bowl 54 dropped several teases of several movies and shows to come, including:
  • A brief glimpse at A Quiet Place: Part II, coming March 20
  • A new look at The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
  • A new tease of Daniel Craig’s final Bond film, 007: No Time to Die (due out April 10)
  • A brief trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, hitting theaters on June 26
  • Disney’s Mulan live-action film, releasing on March 27
  • Another quick look at Marvel’s Black Widow, which debuts on May 1
  • Marvel and Disney also offered a brief glimpse of their upcoming Disney+ series, including Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki
