Weekly Wrapup – Vaping Xbox Edition

Here are some of last week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and more:

  • Halo 4 will come to the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Nov. 17


  • In a new video showcasing recently released and upcoming PlayStation 5 games, Horizon Forbidden West was given a tentative release detail of “anticipated second half 2021”
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are now able claim a 30-day free trial of Disney Plus until Jan. 31 (via Xbox)
  • PS4 players are now able connect to and stream games from the PlayStation 5 via an update to the system’s Remote Play feature (via PlayStation)


  • Insomniac has updated the PlayStation 4 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man to allow save transfers to the remastered version of the game on PlayStation 5
    • The update also adds the remaster’s new suits


  • Rapper Lil Nas X held a virtual concert this past weekend in Roblox
  • Take Two Interactive is acquiring Codemasters, the publisher behind racing franchises such as Dirt, Grid, and several F1 racing games (via Polygon)


  • Developer Behaviour Interactive revealed Dead by Daylight‘s latest killer, a conjoined pair a siblings know as the Twins


  • Fall Guys has released a mid season update during Season 2, adding remixed levels, new costumes, and more
  • Those who purchase items in Fortnite until Dec. 31 will get a two month subscription to Disney Plus
    • The offer only applies to new subscribers (via Epic Games)
  • Destiny 2‘s latest expansion, Beyond Light, will offer more subclasses to characters in the game’s future according to game director Luke Smith (via Polygon)


  • Bungie also announced that the Trials of Osiris PvP event in Destiny 2 has been postponed until Nov. 27 due to a recently discovered bug found in the game


  • Deathloop, the latest game from developer Arkane Studios (Dishonored series, Prey), is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 on May 21, 2021
    • The announcement comes on the heels of the game initially being a launch window release on PS5


  • A new update to Half-Life Alyx has added three hours of developer commentary 


  • The Nioh Collection, a collection featuring remastered versions of Nioh and Nioh 2 with all DLC content, is coming to PlayStation 5 on Feb. 5, 2021
    • The collection updates both games to 4K resolution and 120 FPS


  • Nioh 2 is also coming to PC in the form of Nioh 2: Complete Edition 
    • The hard-as-nails action RPG comes to Steam on Feb. 5, 2021 as well
  • Ubisoft Montreal’s office received police response on Friday Nov. 13 after a possible hoax call was placed, and “no threat” was discovered after police investigation (via Polygon)


  • In movie news, director David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Social Network) has signed a 4-year exclusivity deal with Netflix (via The Verge)
  • Showtime’s Halo TV series will bring back actress Jen Taylor as the voice of Cortana (via The Verge)

  • The first trailer for The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air Reunion was released
    • The reunion arrives on HBO Max Nov. 19


  • HBO Max released the first trailer for the upcoming Adventure Time: Distant Lands – Obsidian
    • The Adventure Time special arrives on Nov. 19


  • Marvel’s WandaVision has set a premiere date for Jan. 15 on Disney Plus
