Here are some of last week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and more:

  • Disintegration developer VI Interactive is shutting down just nine months after launching its first and only game
  • Bethesda has officially become part of Microsoft, with news that potential future Bethesda games could be exclusive to Xbox platforms (via Xbox Wire)

 

  • Overwatch‘s Parchmarchi Challenge limited-time event is now live on consoles and PC until March 22
    • The event features unlockable skins, sprays, and emotes featuring the games lovable onion/squid creature mascot

 

  • Developer Tribute Games (Panzer Paladin, Flinthook) and publisher Dotemu are teaming up for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, a retro-styled TMNT beat-em-up inspired by the classic cartoon
    • The game is set to release for PC and consoles at an unspecified date

 

  • Build-A-Bear will be adding an Animal Crossing: New Horizons line later in the year

 

  • NBA center Meyers Leonard of the Miami Heat has been suspended after using an anti-Semitic language during a Call of Duty: Warzone stream 
    • Leonard has also lost several sponsors, and will no longer be associated with Esports team FaZe Clan after the incident
  • The latest update to Overwatch has added new graphics options to the Xbox Series X and Series S versions, adding 4K visual and up to 120 fps framerate options (via Polygon)

 

  • Members of the teams at Bethesda and Xbox livestreamed a roundtable discussion about the future of the partnership between the publishers
    • Several Bethesda games are getting boosts on Xbox Series X/S

 

  • As part of the celebration of Bethesda’s partnership, 20 Bethesda games are now available on Xbox Game Pass
  • Denuvo anti-cheat software is now available to developers on PlayStation 5 (via Irdeto)
  • In Call of Duty: Warzone, zombies have been showing up in  the prison section of the Verdansk map (via Call of Duty) 

 

  • The soundtrack for Astro’s Playroom is now available on all music streaming platforms

 

  • Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut, the latest add-on for Borderlands 3, has been delayed to April 8

 

  • The Outer Wilds is getting its second expansion, Murder on Eridanos, on March 17 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One
    • A date for the Nintendo Switch version has not yet been determined

 

  • In gaming/streaming news, the upcoming Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness CG film will star the voices of Nick Apostolides as Leon Kennedy and Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil 2 remake

 

  • HBO Max shared the first trailer for Infinity Train Book 4, planned to be the final chapter of the animated series

 

  • Marvel released a final trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ahead of its March 19 release on Disney+
