Here are some of the week’s highlights in gaming, movies, and other nerd-related news:

  • Google Stadia announced the 12 launch titles that will be available when the platform launches on Nov. 19 (via Google)
  • A new Overwatch challenge event is live until Dec. 2, titled “Mercy’s Recall Challenge”
  • Developer Human Head Studios (Prey 2006, Rune) is shutting down, but will be reforming as Roundhouse Studios after being acquired by publisher Bethesda (via Polygon)
  • After a rough launch week on PC, Rockstar Games apologized for the issues plaguing Red Dead Redemption 2 players on the platform with updates on fixes along with in-game items for Red Dead Online
  • Sindel, the latest addition to the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC roster, was shown off in a new trailer
    • The MK veteran will join the roster for Kombat Pack DLC owners on Nov. 26
  • Microsoft hosted their semi-annual X019 event, which featured several announcements
  • Rare announced a new open-world game titled Everwild
  • A new content update for Rare’s Sea of Thieves was also shown off, titled The Seabound Soul
  • Bleeding Edge, Ninja Theory’s first game since being acquired by Microsoft earlier in the year, was given a release fate of March 24, 2020 with a multiplayer beta in February
  • Dontnod, the developer behind the Life is Strange series and Vampyr, revealed their partnership with microsoft Game Studios for a new narrative adventure game titled Tell Me Why
  • Halo: Reach will join The Master Chief Collection on Dec. 3 on Xbox One and PC
  • Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will come to Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass in early 2020
    • This will mark the first time the series has come to the platform
  • inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 3 will release on May 19, 2020
  • Several new games were announced to be coming to Xbox Game Pass, and made Xbox Game Pass Ultimate $1 for three months for first time users along with additional benefits to subscribers (via Polygon)
  • Microsoft also announced that it’s upcoming streaming platform, Project xCloud, will be coming to Windows 10 PC in 2020, as well as the addition of 50 games to platform testers (via Polygon)
  • Long-running survival game Rust will make it’s way to Xbox One and PS4 in 2020
  • Rage 2 released a new DLC expansion titled TerrorMania
  • A new Stormtrooper skin is now available to purchase in the game’s shop
    • The skin also available to those who purchase Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from the Epic Games Store on PC
  • One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, the first game based on the hit anime series, will release on Feb. 28, 2020
  • A report from Kotaku revealed that BioWare’s struggling multiplayer game Anthem may be getting a complete overhaul (via Kotaku)
  • Path of Exile 2 was revealed by developer Grinding Gear Games during the annual ExileCon event
  • Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, a new version of the popular fighter, was revealed and will release on Feb. 14, 2020
  • Street Fighter 3‘s villain Gill, was also revealed to be coming to Street Fighter V in December
  • In movie news, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed that the long in development Black Adam film will release on Dec. 22, 2021 (via Instagram)
  • A new edit appeared in the Disney+ version of Star Wars: A New Hope during the infamous Han Solo vs Greedo cantina scene, and was reportedly added in just before Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm (via SyFy)
  • A new trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released, showing off the character’s updated design following the film’s delay
    • The film hits theaters on Feb. 14, 2020
  • A new trailer for DC’s Harley Quinn animated series was released
    • The series releases on the DC Universe streaming service on Nov. 29
  • A new trailer for Michael Bay’s Netflix debut, 6 Underground, was release
    • The action flick comes to Netflix on Dec. 13
  • The first teaser trailer for Warner Bros. CG animated Scooby Doo movie, Scoob! was released
    • The animated adventure releases summer 2020
  • The first trailer for The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run, the third Spongebob theatrical movie, was released
    • The CG-animated sequel hits theaters in May 2020
